Mr. Ryon Maples
Mr. Maples is a native of the Detroit metropolitan area. In his life and career, he has developed an aptitude for and an interest in anything related to mechanics or technology. He has held various jobs including over-the-road truck-driving which allowed him to travel to all forty-eight states in the continental U.S.
Mr. Maples started his career in the field of building engineering with the Plymouth Canton School District. He worked his way up from a substitute custodian to assistant head of maintenance at one of the district’s elementary schools. During his time with Plymouth Canton, he took advantage of numerous training opportunities in the areas of carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. He started his employment at Gesu in 2019 as an apprentice to the building engineer at the time, learning the operation of Gesu’s boilers and everything involved in maintaining Gesu’s campus. In 2021, Mr. Maples successfully obtained his boiler operator license from the city of Detroit and took over as Gesu’s buildings engineer.
Mr. Maples is part of a blended family. He and his wife Michele are blessed with seven children between the two of them. In 2020, he became a Catholic and convalidated his marriage at Gesu Church. In his spare time, Mr. Maples enjoys tinkering in his garage, music, reading, camping and model trains.
